Firemen Day

Today is celebrated in Mexico as the Firemen Day. Why today? Because the first Firemen unit in Mexico was organized  on August 22, 1873 in Veracruz on the Gulf Coast.

Here they have other activities aside putting down fires, such as control gas leaks, help in rescue efforts in floodings, aerial accidents or for natural disasters. Also they help get rid of bee hives or other dangerous bugs or animals.

This picture is from a Firetruck of Monterrey Firemen Team. You can see the Saddle Hill (Cerro de la Silla) reflected on the door.

That was really interesting. Always good to learn a new thing. Excellent shot, really rich in colour.
