Hace unas semanas fue la carrera número 17 de Imagen en Monterrey, no es fácil correr casi 1 hora disfrazado


The 17th edition of the road race Imagen 10k Monterrey took place a few weeks ago, it not that easy to run almost an hour in costume

Seeds of Life

This sculpture is called “Seeds of Life”. The two brown objects are supposed to be seeds lying over a fountain that nurtures them.

It is located at the base of two of the highest buildings in the City, as if implying that both grew from similar seeds. Here is a previous post featuring those buildings.


Esta escultura se llama “Semillas de la Vida”. Los dos objetos cafés son semillas sobre una fuente que las alimenta.

Está ubicada en la base de dos de los edificios más altos de la Ciudad, como diciendo que ambos hubieran surgido de semillas similares. Aquí pueden ver una entrada anterior con ambos edificios.

Reflections of the Sky

These are a couple of buildings in San Pedro, which is part of the greater Metroplex of Monterrey.

Both are used mostly as office space, although there are some commercial businesses at the first level, mostly restaurants.

I got this reflection near a cloudy sunset. The building reflected is a NH hotel that just opened a few months ago.


Este par de edificios están en San Pedro, que es parte del área Metropolitana de Monterrey.

Ambos son usados en su mayoría como oficinas, aunque hay algunos negocios en el primer nivel, especialmente restaurantes.

Este reflejo es de un atardecer nublado. El edificio que se aparece reflejado es el hotel NH que abrió hace unos pocos meses.

Night View

This is one of the most distinctives landmarks at San Pedro, which is part of the larger Metroplex area of Monterrey.

It's known as “Los Tubos” or The Pipes, for the shape of its pillars. 

Also, you can see behind the shopping mall that I posted a few weeks ago.

Este es uno de los monumentos más distintivos de San Pedro, que es parte del área Metropolitana de Monterrey.

Se le conoce como “Los Tubos” por la forma de sus pilares.

En la parte de atrás también pueden ver el centro comercial que publiqué hace algunas semanas.

Looking to the Sky

This is the Alfa Planetarium (named after the company sponsoring it, you can check them out here).

This building houses a museum and an IMAX Theater, where movies about science and nature are shown.


Este es el Planetario Alfa (que es la empresa que lo patrocina, pueden ver más de ellos aquí).

Este edificio tiene un museo y una pantalla IMAX, donde exhiben películas sobre ciencia y naturaleza.

Wanna go Shopping?

This is a shopping mall that has a glass exterior which is lit every night with changing colors.



Este es un centro comercial con la fachada de vidrio, la cual ilumina con diferentes colores cada noche.

Landmark Bridge

This is a suspension (is this the right term?) built despite much criticism. It was said at the time, some 5 years ago, that its too much of a waste of money for the service that it does.

It looks nice for a photo though.


Este es el Puente Atirantado construído a pesar de muchas críticas. Se dijo en su momento, hace 5 años más o menos, que es un desperdicio un puente de este tipo para el uso que tiene.

Pero al menos sale bien en las fotos.

City Border

This is an office building located on the edge of Monterrey.

You can see the sign where Monterrey starts. Basically the picture was taken a few meters into San Pedro, which is the City where the other buildings are located that show you yesterday.

Este es un edificio de oficinas en la orilla de Monterrey.

Pueden ver el señlamiento que indica donde empieza Monterrey. La foto la tomé un par de metros dentro de San Pedro, que es la Ciudad donde están los otros edificios que les mostré ayer.

Tallest Buildings

These are 2 of the tallest buildings in Monterrey... and a not so big hydrant between them, or is it ?  :)

Actually they are located in San Pedro, which is the part of the Metroplex that host most the central offices of some of the big companies hosted in the City.

Only the top part of the building on the left host departments, the rest, on both buildings, are offices.

Estos son 2 de los edificios más altos de Monterrey... y entre ellos un hidrante no tan alto, ¿o si lo es? :)

Realmente están en San Pedro, que es la parte de la Zona Metropolitana donde se encuentran las oficinas corporativas algunas de las grandes empresas ubicadas en la Ciudad.

Sólo la parte de arriba del edificio de la izquierda tiene departamentos, el resto de ambos edificios es para oficinas.

A Saint in Town

This is a replica of Michelangelo's David put at the top of a funtain.

Monterrey is surrounded by smaller cities that in the last 30 years have become a big Metroplex. Some of those cities are named after saints. This statue is located in San Pedro (Saint Peter).

Other cities are San Nicolas (Saint Nicholas), Santa Catarina (Saint Catherine) and Guadalupe (Named after the Virgin of Guadalupe).

Esta es una réplica del David de Miguel Angel, sobre una fuente.

Monterrey está rodeada por ciudades más pequeñas que en los últimos 30 años han formado una gran Metrópoli. Algunas de estas ciudades fueron nombradas en honor a santos. Esta estatua está en San Pedro.

Las otras ciudades son San Nicolás, Santa Catarina y Guadalupe (en honor a la Virgen de Guadalupe).

Easter/Spring Parade and Expo - Part 6

A couple of Sundays ago there was an Easter/Spring Parade.

It was also a chance to make Easter Eggs designs & decorations and put them on a park so the people going to the parade could check them out.

I've posted since last week some of those and today is the last of the series.

This egg is asking for Peace and Love. Is it too much to ask?

I've posted since last week some of those and will continue until tomorrow so you could also appreciate them.

It was also a chance to make Easter Eggs designs & decorations and put them on a park so the people going to the parade could check them out.

This egg has a few kids telling what their rights are. The kids say: I got right to peace, family, love and health.


El domingo pasado hubo un desfile de Pascua/Primavera.

Aprovecharon para exponer diseños y decoraciones de Huevos de Pascua y ponerlos en un parque para que la gente que iba al desfile los pudiera ver.

Empecé a publicar algunos a partir del lunes y seguiré la siguiente semana con algunos más para que ustedes también los puedan ver.

En este huevo los niños dicen cuales son sus derechos: a la paz, al amor, a la familia y a la salud.
