Another Chapter of the Rivalry

Yesterday I wrote about the rivalry between Monterrey and Mexico City. This week was the Mexican Baseball League Final Series between... you guess it! Monterrey (Sultanes) and Mexico City (Red Devils).

Maybe this is the most historied baseball rivalry in Mexico, akin to the Red Sox - Yankees in the USA or Real Madrid - Barcelona in Spain's soccer. The teams of two of the country's biggest cities playing for a championship.



Ayer escribí sobre la rivalidad entre Monterrey y la Ciudad de México. Esta semana fue la Serie Final de la Liga Mexicana de Beisbol entre... ¡adivinaron! Monterrey (Sultanes) y la Ciudad de México (Diablos Rojos).

Talvez esta sea la rivalidad histórica del beisbol mexicano, comparada con Medias Rojas - Yankees en los Estados Unidos o Real Madrid - Barcelona en el Futbol Español. Los equipos de dos de las principales ciudades peleando por el campeonato.

This is one of the most distinctives landmarks at San Pedro, which is part of the larger Metroplex area of Monterrey.

It's known as “Los Tubos” or The Pipes, for the shape of its pillars. 

Also, you can see behind the shopping mall that I posted a few weeks ago.

Este es uno de los monumentos más distintivos de San Pedro, que es parte del área Metropolitana de Monterrey.

Se le conoce como “Los Tubos” por la forma de sus pilares.

En la parte de atrás también pueden ver el centro comercial que publiqué hace algunas semanas.

This is a shopping mall that has a glass exterior which is lit every night with changing colors.



Este es un centro comercial con la fachada de vidrio, la cual ilumina con diferentes colores cada noche.

Today Italy plays again, so that's another excuse to post another photo of this monument.

How's my Driving?

For those of you wondering how driving is in Monterrey, here is this photo taken at night.

You can notice from the lights that is a little bit bumpy, which makes it really difficult to drive when its raining, other than that it's like evertwhere else.


Para aquellos que querìan saber como es manejar en Monterrey, una foto nocturna.

Pueden ver en las luces que la calle tiene unos pequeños brincos, lo que hace difícil manejar con lluvia, aparte de eso el resto está como en cualquier otra parte.
