The Other Face
Yesterday I introduced you to this sculpture, which is located in the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon's (UANL) main campus.
The real reason to do so was that I wanted to show you today's photo. It the same sculpture, only from a different angle so you can see other of the faces... and also its new look by being painted in yellow, which I think makes it stand out even more.

Tech Support
This is a sculpture in the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon's (UANL) main campus. Is located right beside the Information Technology school and pretty close this building that I posted a few weeks ago.
It has 4 sides each featuring the same face, in this photo you are looking at two of them. If you look it from the top its like an plus sign. I'm not sure what it represents, communication maybe? what do you think?

Philosophy Major

The UANL (University of Nuevo Leon) is a public college that also happens to be the biggest in the State, with around 115,000 active students in all.
Each major has its own school inside the UANL's big campus, each one with its own sub-identity. Every student or alumni is known as a Tiger, but the sub-identities are as varied as the majors offered.
Here is the mascot from the School of Philosophy, the unicorn.
In future posts I'll show you some others mascots.

World Junior Swimming Championship - Series 1.1

A couple of weeks ago, Monterrey hosted the 2nd FINA World Junior Swimming Championships, which basically is the biggest competition for the age bracket of the swimmers that should be somewhere around 17-18 and under.
There were a few competitors that will even participate in this years Olympic Games in Beijing, so it was a good show.
Over the next few days, I'll post some of the photos from the event.
This is the building where the competition took place. It's part of the University of Nuevo Leon (UANL) .

Alfonsine Chapel
This is a library from the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon (UANL).
According to their website, it's called “Chapel” for being a sanctuary for culture, literature and knowledge.
The other part of the name, “Alfonsine”, its dedicated to Alfonso Reyes who is one of the most outstanding Regios (that's the name given to people born in Monterrey) in history and whose personal library is inside the building.

New Metro Station

This is one of the newest Metro Stations in the City, right beside the Nuevo Leon's Autonomous University (UANL - Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon) the State University.
They all have this wavy kind of style and had been cause of protests since the City Council decided to make this Metro line over the streets reducing the space to drive. Also it took a couple of years to complete in which the streets were almost closed entirely.

Theme Day: Graffiti or street mural

Since this blog just went live yesterday, it was a little bit late to be an “official” participant of the Daily Photo Community Theme Day. Anyway, here is what would be my photo for March's Theme.
It's the mural located just below the front entrance to the Chemestry Science School from the UANL (Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon), which is a public school and the biggest college in the State with some 115,000 students.
